If you noticed, there are more artists who don't reach their dreams then ones that do. You only see about 50 artist you know about on T.V. and about 20 of them on the radio. Where are the other million of artists out there? Is there no room at the top? or is that most people are not that great, including myself? Are these people just the lucky few?

First off, you need to understand that times are changing. Being famous doesn't have to mean your on T.V. or on the radio. Living off music doesn't mean that you have to be signed to a record label. Everything is changing in the music business world and you know why? Two words... the Internet.

The Internet is a blessing to you, it really is. Because now you really can be famous, impact the world and get paid to do what you love on. Before you can do the same thing but you had to climb mountains, swim across deep oceans and wrestle bears in order to become successful in the music business! Now, guess what? all you have to do is know how to use the Internet, one, and know how to market. To be honest, if you know how to market, the music doesn't even have to be that great. But if you want to be a timeless artist, I suggest you make sure your music is great as well.


Because of the Internet, you don't need to be on the radio, you don't need to be on T.V. and you don't need to have a record deal. There are only about 20 artists playing on the radio everyday, so what? There are only a few people who ever make BET or VH1 interviews, so what? Only a few people have record deals and I wish I was one of them, why!?


The radio, the T.V. and record labels will mean nothing in the coming years. They are starting to not mean much now. Marketing is a skill just like songwriting, performing live and recording vocals that you must know in order to become successful as an artist. There are millions of artists online and not even 25% of them are living off music. Why? because all of them do not know how to market and don't even know that they are suppose to know how to market in order to live off music.


In today's new age, you need to be the record label. You need to be the business owner not just the artist. If you do not want to market your music online and be your own boss then I suggest you stand in the long line of people who are wanting a record deal. These people are the ones who are actually never going to make it. 1 out of 1,000,000 will probably make it looking for a record deal. Again, why is that? because the Internet has taken over and that's a really good thing because it is a gift to you!
